This infographic offers a visual synthesis of the prevailing migration narratives in the EU political and policy debates in 2015 (Case 1: refugee crisis and EU relocation scheme) and 2022 (Case 2: Ukraine war and refugee crisis) and sums up the recommendations for EU political actors and policymakers. The infographic sums up the main conclusions of the the BRIDGES Working Paper on the impact of narratives on EU policymaking, and includes the recommendations collected in the Policy Brief aimed at members and officials of European institutions that may contribute to shaping narratives for fairer, comprehensive, and balanced European policy responses to migration and asylum.

This is part of the research in WP8, which investigates the main migration narratives circulating on media, political debates, and policy venues within the European Union over the past decade, and has been carried out by IAI.
