BRIDGES will bring together representatives of European, national and regional institutions; entities dedicated to the reception of migrants; and academic researchers to discuss the impact of migration narratives in border contexts, at a seminar organised by CIDOB with the collaboration of Casa África. In the afternoon, an open event will take place on the border as a space of inequality and the route towards the Canary Islands.

BRIDGES photo exhibition ‘Out of Frame’ at Géopolis, Brussels
‘Out of Frame: Rethinking the visual narratives of migrations in Europe’, curated by ZONA as part of BRIDGES co-production efforts, will have its final stop at Géopolis, Brussels. The opening will take place on Thursday 1 February, at 18:30h, after the BRIDGES Final Conference.
Conference: Telling the story of migration at the Italian, French and English borders
On 19 January, the Centre for European and Comparative Studies, in partnership with the Désinfox-Migrations association and the Centre for International Relations Studies, will be holding a round-table discussion entitled: “Telling the story of migration at the Italian, French and English borders”.
BRIDGES Final Conference
The BRIDGES Final Conference will take place in Brussels on 1 February 2024. The whole-day event will be an opportunity to discuss the main findings of the project, to exchange with other research projects working on the same topic and to bridge the gap between research and policy-making by opening a discussion with members of the European Parliament.

All of this from a broad perspective that goes beyond the instantaneousness of the media; that includes a critical view and the subjectivity of those who experience it first-hand; and that can include from the smallest thing to the largest.
